Yale (Men's)

$195.00

The Yale Ivy Oxford.

The deep, rich color of the Nation’s second-oldest university, Yale University, chartered in 1701.

This Yale Blue trimmed oxford was made for late-night study (or debauchery) sessions, biking through Old Campus, grabbing a bite in New Haven or cheering on the Bulldogs at the Yale Bowl. Engineered to be proudly worn until threadbare.

Origins of Color

Yale Blue has historic roots in the College rowing competitions. As early as 1843, the winning boat in crew intramurals displayed a blue pennant with “Yale” lettered in white. In 1894 the Yale Corporation voted to adopt blue as the university’s official color, choosing a dark shade used as the official color of the University of Oxford. In practice, some latitude is a must since the realities of print and web production preclude absolute color consistency. (Source: yaleidentity.yale.edu)
